Artist's Comments
This is the compilation of what I've been doing in Character Design class this year. The objective was to illustrate a set of characters based on the theme (this year it was Greek myths) using influences from the style of a particular professional artist.
The artist I chose was Jackson Publick (creator of The Venture Brothers). I'm not sure how effectively I captured his style, but I had fun with these nonetheless. This was really the first time I've ever done a substantial amount of cartoon human art so it was quite a challenge for me. From left to right: Cerberus, Telemachus, Odysseus, Athena, Tiresias, and the Chimera. |

And yeah, I love the shows human designs but aren't as keen on the animals so I tweaked that a bit. Gave him more of the fun angles that the VB human characters have.
